About Us
The Building Materials Resource Center is a project of the Boston Building Materials Co-op Charitable and Educational Fund, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with the dual mission of keeping reusable materials out of the solid waste stream and helping low- and moderate-income homeowners repair and maintain their homes.
Anyone is welcome to shop at the Building Materials Resource Center. Low- and moderate-income individuals and families receive a significant discount on our already low prices (the "member price" listed for each item). To become a member, you will need to provide proof of income (a copy of your most recent tax return or SSI benefits letter). Nonprofit organizations also receive the member price by providing a copy of the organization’s IRS Determination Letter and Massachusetts ST-2 and ST-5 forms. There is a $10 yearly membership fee.
